Sabrina was a Russian mail-order bride, sort of, when she first arrived in America. The man she was to marry had already paid for her travel and welcomed her to live with him in a brownstone on the Upper Westside of Manhattan. He owned an upscale, over-priced antique shop on Madison Avenue. He was also fat, ugly and eccentric.
Needless to say, Sabrina didn't last long with him and, once she acquired her green card, she set out on her own to live in NYC. As with a great deal of beautiful Russian girls her age, Sabrina gravitated toward the Russian mob-owned strip clubs where she could easily communicate to her fellow countrymen and women...and, also, earn for herself about $1000 per night.
A friend of Togo met her at a party and persuaded her to pose for the artist. At first, she demanded $1000 for her valuable time. But, once she saw the other portraits he had made of women...she agreed to pose but only if she could have the portrait of herself. Togo made two versions of this picture (one for her.) She liked it so much that she returned several times to pose for him.
The last he had heard from Sabrina was that she was doing quite well in her profession and could afford to bring her sisters and mother here to live in The Land Of The Free. She also wanted to know if her portraits by Togo were worth more money as time goes on.
